Sage pass all tests on Solaris.
It was not necessary to include #9703 and #9735 for Sage to pass all doc
tests on Solaris 10 (SPARC), which is the only currently supported version
of Solaris on Sage. Both of those tickets only affect x86 versions. They
will not do any harm, but they were unnecessary.
However, since #9703 has been merged, I would request that anyone that
builds sage-4.6.prealpha3.tar, that they report on ticket #9703 of the
success or failure of these three tests:
{{{
sage -t -long devel/sage/sage/modular/abvar/abvar.py #
sage -t -long devel/sage/sage/lfunctions/sympow.py #
sage -t -long
devel/sage/sage/schemes/elliptic_curves/ell_rational_field.py
}}}
#9703 still awaits positive review, so clearly evidence it is working on
many systems will add to the confidence that the ticket is valid. Just
adding a quick comment like "The three tests passed on <your system>"
would be useful.
Neither are those two tickets sufficient to cause all doc tests on Solaris
10 on x86 or !OpenSolaris on x86, though they will reduce the number of
failures. A couple more tickets need to be merged to get all doc tests to
pass on Solaris 10 x86 - these are #9689 and #9693. However, that's
outside the scope of the Pari upgrade, so I'm not expecting you to merge
them, though if you did create a later alpha, I would not object if you
did merge them!
