I think I found the problem, I think the shell was not set up properly.
I mean, these are options passed to setup.py not separate commands.
They shouldn't be interpreted as such and aren't in the numpy spkg-
install,
so there are no reason why they should be in scipy.
But the shells for the two spkg-install were different so I think that may
be
a point of bash/shell semantic. In which case I am curious to find out
what I
am supposed to do in sh. There is a new spkg-install.2 for you to try.
