distutils.sysconfig.get_config_var("LDSHARED")
}}}
on your MacOS X 10.'''4''' box? (Just to make sure it doesn't differ much
from the settings on 10.5 and 10.6.)
Btw, "illegal instruction" errors (signal 4) are also reasonable when the
wrong PARI library is used, since memory might get corrupted and function
pointers may point to some arbitrary location.
This upgrade problem isn't that hard to fix (since we now know the two
rather unrelated causes), but I think I'll open a follow-up ticket for the
necessary patches.
