You don't need to keep the svn repository history, but you do need to put
the revision number in the spkg name (numpy-1.5.0.svnXXXX).
However, I think it would be better to just include the one patch on top
of 1.5.0, rather than pull an unstable release from subversion. See the
comments at the top of this trac ticket about using an unstable release
(like 1.5.0RC2).
