Comment(by jhpalmieri):

 Okay, I have a new version of the spkg, based on vanilla 1.5.0. I haven't
 tested it because I just lost my internet connection to fulvia. See
 [http://sage.math.washington.edu/home/palmieri/misc/numpy-1.5.0.spkg].
 I'm also attaching the file displaying the differences between this spkg
 and the old 1.5.0 spkg posted here, except for two things: the new spkg
 includes modified copies of numpy/core/setup.py and
 numpy/distutils/command/config.py (in the patches directory -- the src
 directory is unmodified), and I didn't see any reason to include them in
 the posted patch file. They are of course included in the repository, but
 to keep the patch file small, I edited them out before posting it.

 Oh, the internet connection is back again. I'm rebuilding on fulvia from
 scratch, which will take a while, but I just rebuilt the numpy package on
 mark2 successfully: "import numpy" works.
