I long ago created a package for 'patch'

I think William finally agreed to make it part of sage, since many wanted
it. But then after that others had convinced him there were better ways do
it with Mercurial, so I gave up the idea.
Leif, what has the pkg-config file for freetype got to do with this
readline package?
Do you want to create a reviewer patch, or shall I unquote CC?
