 Jason,

Thanks for all the comments. I am still running a time deficit at the
moment. So probably cannot address any of these immediately. Which are
blockers? If I know what to start on I may be able to squeeze a little
time in between reviews and grading this week.

1)I think I know how to fix the issue with clicking links with sleeping
 applets.
 2) The firefox problem cannot be fixed until the notebook passes
information properly. A number of things work poorly in FF on MacOS
because the twisted server adds some html header information to files that
are not html. I've reported this as a bug long ago. I don't know enough
about the server to fix it easily.
 3) Except for putting things in the right click menu most of your
interface requests are doable. How about a button that changes between an
advanced options interface and a minimalist interface, rather than making
them part of the right click menu?

 > * First, this is awesome! Thanks for the huge amount of work you've
 put into it.
 > * Under the Functions tab, clicking the link to get info from a
sleeping JMOL gives an error and doesn't retrieve info
 > * In firefox 3.6.13, OSX 10.6.6, changing the size of the applet to a
smaller size seems to not recenter the image, so I end up with a smaller
window that shows a corner of the object. Sometimes changing the sizes
back and forth several times leads to the object disappearing from the
 visible view.
 > * (this may be hard)---it would be nice if there was some way for the
java applet to gauge how much memory was left in the java system, so that
instead of drawing a hard line of 5 awake applets, the applets could
determine if they had enough memory to display, and if not, ask for
another applet to go to sleep.
 > * A lot of these next suggestions are for minimizing the interface the
user has to interact with. The purpose for this is to avoid confusing
most users with a huge array of choices and options that they need to
make. The idea is to make most of these choices behind a right-click menu
(if possible) so they are available to advanced users, but are not taking
 up space for most users.
 > * When an applet is sleeping, it says "Sleeping...". Maybe make that
text instead say "Click to interact" and make it a link that is the same
link as the "Wake this 3-D view" link is.
 > * Is there a way to put the "Click to Sleep this 3-D view" and the
"Help for Jmol 3-D viewer" in the right-click menu for the applet?
 > * Can we make the display sizes and static image to save also links
inside the jmol applet right-click menu?
 > * Is the State box likely to be useful to lots of people? If it is
mainly a debug or developer thing, can we make it also a right-click menu
 thing?
