Comment:

 One small issue: as you said, .hg/hgrc is not transferred during clones,
 so if you "sage -clone ...", the "git" setting is lost for that repo.  If
 people don't work with clones, or if they use the version of Mercurial
 distributed with Sage, or if they have "git=1" in their own .hgrc file,
 this won't affect them.  I suppose we could rewrite the file in the sage-
 clone script, but I don't know if it's worth it.  Opinions?

 For the root repo, my patch works for me.  Can someone else check it?
 Pending opinions on modifying sage-clone, everything else gets a positive
 review from me.
