 For the record: When building Sage with the gcc spkg (modified to support
 loop optimization and lto) and `-O2 -march=native -flto` then Singular
 failed to build (the linker produced an error). Then, I removed `-flto`
 and manually installed the Singular spkg. Finally, I reinstated `-flto`
 and successfully built the rest of Sage.

 Anyway, I found no problem in building Lcalc or zn_poly or ratpoints. I
 did not do run the test suite yet, because technically the installation
 isn't over: The reference manual is now being built.
