Works for me (with a separate GCC), so probably Sage's GCC spkg needs
work.

W.r.t. `-flto` in `LDFLAGS`: You don't have to add it there for ''most''
packages, only some may need this in addition (also `-fuse-linker-plugin`
btw.).
In any case, if you omit it, the build must not fail. Only LTO may simply
not happen.
