 So what are we going to do about SSL? It seems to me that since one cannot
 run `sage -i openssl` from a freshly unpacked tarball, we basically need
 to require SSL to be installed systemwide. Or we can expect the user to
 run `make`, wait for it to fail (!), then run `sage -i openssl` (hopefully
 by this time the machinery for `sage -i` is in place), and then run `make`
 again. Should I add a note to this effect to the "install from source"
 docs page?
