FWIW, make test passes again. What I did:
* Open the tar ball, cd sage-5.1.notebook; replace the existing sagenb
spkg with the new one posted here.
* make; wait until it fails.
* ./sage -i openssl
* make
* make test
Can someone else test whether the new spkg is able to pick up a system
wide libssl-dev?
