These patches look good. I'll be back in a few days after having looked a
bit more on the details.
In the meantime, here is a question/issue: when I apply 11930c.patch using
Sage 5.0 (on OS X lion 10.7.3) I get the following:

sage/schemes/hyperelliptic_curves/hyperelliptic_finite_field.py}}}\\
{{{Hunk #8 succeeded at 653 with fuzz 1 (offset 95 lines).}}}
I'm not sure what this means or how to get rid off the fuzz.
