Hi! Ashley, So Sorry I did not put my 2 bits in on this topic. I agree that Saligao should be kept as pristine as possible for future. Already there has been an assault on the slopes. As the views are magnificent, I am sure this is prime real estate for the developers. But if we gave in to them where would our youngster romp and frolic as we did on the Saligao hills.
As for building development in Saligao, It is already beginning to look like Calangute. The monstrosity by the church and Arjun's building in DonVaddo sure are a testament of what is to come if the villagers do not put a stop to it. I for one am okay with a 1+1 with a Goa tile roof(instead of a slab)as this will surely enhance the village look. In order for Saligao to stand out we have to be different from the rest of the developments, like in Calangute, Candolim and Baga. So. Lets take a web vote like we did when nameing the Saligao website a few years ago, so it can give you more power when making your decisions. The questions we should vote on: 1)Do we want development on the slopes? 2)What shape does this development have to take (a)1 or(b) 1+1 or (c)1+2/ 3)Do we go for (a)slab or tile roofs(b)? My answers are 1) NO, 2)(b) and 3)(b).
