The milk comes in plastic, to shift back to bottles we will have to use another 50 delivery trucks because of the weight and space. Writing pens are plastic, can we switch to feathers and ink bottles. What is clearly needed is segregation.at source. WHile plastic go into one bin, if they are clean and identifiable they can be reused. By identifiable I mean the type of plastic, eg: bottles are PET, pens are PE slippers shoe soles usually PVC etc. It is clearly important to keep different plastics separate because if for example you shred all into one bag, the entire bag is useless. So water bottles have to be kept separate and then a recycler can reuse them. The caps of water bottles are different and more valuable because it is PP. Just going after plastic is not going to solve your problem, plastic is making life easier in many ways especially fuel saving, it is the way we dispose it after using that is the key. Thin plastic bags which are sort to be banned is correct as they cannot be recycled and are the prime source of all the nuisance. . Segeration is the key.Plastic free is a myth.
