Me? Striving for a better Goa? What crap, Quentin. I'm just staying in a
place I like, doing what I can do without overstretching myself too much
(I've felt like just another digit in a big city whenever I lived in one!)
... and having fun while doing it. More than support, what we need is
dialogue and communication, so that we can understand all sides of the
issue.

This reminds me of the "seven-tiles" games that Quentin, Alan's brother
Nobby and the rest of us used to share in the 'seventies near the Saligao
Institute. What better than a good controversy to rake up some life on
Saligaonet! Keven, if it had not been for you, we would have never got Alan
and Quentin to post.

Give us a shout from your part of .Ca Quentin. Hope all's well with you.
Christi (Mariano's, Muriel's and Sr Goretti's brother) is down, and he told
me a secret -- he's going to be 50 soon! The St Xavier's reunion is on
coming Sunday. Goanetters meet in Goa on Dec 27 (at Miramar). Our
publicity-shy Saligaokarn Yvonne Vaz Ezdani (Shannon's and Rachel's mum)
releases her first book called The Songs of the Survivors (about Goans in
Burma, and the 1942 Japanese occupation) on Dec 29 at the Xavier Centre of
Historical Research. She'll tell you more about it. I got a sneak preview
and know it's interesting (and features many names you might know).

This much for now... what could we turn into a controversy next? Do you
think the Saligao Institute was right in sending out a notice saying "Santa
Clause will give away the parents brought by the parents of those children
participating in the Christmas Tree"? Riza is nine, has three years to go
before officially being excluded from the Christmas Tree, and now has to
live with the reality that, yes, adults do tell untrue stories to their kids
:-)

Okay, I'm just joking here. Don't take me very seriously. I've been working
too hard at home, trying to study Free Software/Open Source issues in
Thailand and Vietnam, while sitting here in Saligao. All this stuff must be
affecting my mind :-)

Take care, and keep posting! Let's out-Annette Annette. FN
