We do a variety of checks that look at hardware, environment and business processes.

Examples beyond the normal disk space/ping/ checks include:

Number and/or age of unprocessed files in a "pick-up" directory for batch processes.
Undeliverable messages from an SMTP server
Busy/failure rates on inbound and outbound fax servers.
Queue lengths for import processes
General server health via SNMP (is the front panel light GREEN or RED?)
UPS battery status
SQL job status (odbc query)
File sizes of critical application data tables

Subject: [SA-list] What's all being monitored...

In regards to services, process, disk space, etc on your servers, what are some of the things being monitored using Servers Alive? I'm guessing Ping and DNS are the default, especially for domain controllers, and SMTP for the mail servers, but what else? Anyone bothering to monitor disk space and/or processes etc?
Any responses are appreciated.
