I acknowledged very clearly in my post the fact that SAP company has
been the entire development team for SAPDB.  Nothing says it has to stay
that way, however.  

There is nothing unfair or ungrateful about this.  And it IS playing by
the rules--the rules SAP chose when they released SAPDB under its
original licenses.
