Third, the MySQL-SAP cooperation will result in clearly bigger changes happening in the MySQL server than in SAP DB. The changes to MySQL will take place over a long time perspective. Quite as in the case of SAP DB, the plan is to keep compatible to earlier versions, only extending its feature set.
People were talking about a new product developed by MySQL and SAP - is the "extended MySQL server" this new product? are you talking to extend the functionality of the MySQL server until it reaches the level that SAPDB now has and beeing backward compatible?
If the short-answer is "yes", i'd like to ask some questions.
