The think that SapDB Community wants have and use SapDB in the future in the same way that now.
If you want add a storage engine SapDB to Msyql and at the same time have the product Sapdb like now it is, is not a problem. I use SapDB product and that's all. But, if you want only SapDB as a MySql storage engine SapDB, this is a problem. 1) Many users dont have way to upgrade there systems. SapDB instalations are now more the 10000. 2) Others user can dislake and go away from SapDB Community or not coming in. We dont want user going away. We want more users coming in the SapDB community. We and you want a open source community more powerfull. But not a the price to loose a excelent product, to make other product come in other place of db market. The place of MySql is web base aplications and systems that not need be transactions safe and need be fast. The place of SapDB is systems wiht a lot os users and data.
