Hi Christian, Maybe. :) Preparing those kinds of documents takes some time - especially without having feedback from users and a lot of time from developers. After following the messages on the list, I felt that it was better that I did my best to start talking with the community about these issues, rather than waiting for a few weeks for everyone at MySQL and SAP to agree, and have time to work together. I think that it was the right choice, but it definitely could have been easier. :) Also, I was preparing some of these documents - I was under the impression that we would announce the partnership on May 28 and believed that I had more time. ... > Of course. I do not yet know. No one may yet know this. It will be in the FAQ (I am sure that you are getting sick of hearing this now :) ... > Maybe you're right. I have been writing an article that details the ins and outs of the various engines and am perhaps a bit too focused on them. :) > b) you are not a developer and get more information from the > assembled SAP DB users than from your developers, and This is true. I am a programmer, but I do not hack on MySQL, and until I get up to speed on SAP DB, I may rely on this list to help me. > c) you can still get excited when you hear about all those "Very > cool!" things that SAP DB can do today, > > that should make me look at you much more sympathetically, shouldn't > it? I am glad that you feel this way now. :) Now, I should get back to work on the docs and such. Cheers! --zak _______________________________________________ sapdb.general mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://listserv.sap.com/mailman/listinfo/sapdb.general
