  Hi Christian,

Maybe. :) Preparing those kinds of documents takes some time - especially
without having feedback from users and a lot of time from developers.

After following the messages on the list, I felt that it was better that I
did my best to start talking with the community about these issues, rather
than waiting for a few weeks for everyone at MySQL and SAP to agree, and
  have time to work together.

I think that it was the right choice, but it definitely could have been
easier. :) Also, I was preparing some of these documents - I was under
the impression that we would announce the partnership on May 28 and believed
  that I had more time.

I do not yet know. No one may yet know this. It will be in the FAQ
(I am sure that you are getting sick of hearing this now :)

<blush> I have storage engines on the brain right now. I have been
writing an article that details the ins and outs of the various engines
and am perhaps a bit too focused on them. :)

This is true. I am a programmer, but I do not hack on MySQL,
and until I get up to speed on SAP DB, I may rely on this list
  to help me.

I am glad that you feel this way now. :)

Now, I should get back to work on the docs and such.

Cheers!
