Hello Christian,

It is fairly easy to see that you are angry. This is understandable, since you
are one of the people who is being inconvenienced by this change.

In fact, since you are baiting me, I am a bit angry as well. :)

Let me work on the technical MySQL/SAPDB FAQ and provide you with some real
information.

There are also a few specific comments below:

I believe that the negative *and* positive press around MySQL will
affect how people perceive the SAP DB technology.

Of course the name SAP will improve MySQL's reputation.

This is the beauty of free licensing, if you are willing to work, then you
have choice. This is one of the reasons that we chose the GPL for
  MySQL.

I don't necessarily agree. MySQL was one of the first free/open source
databases to meet the needs of a large segment of the market. SAP DB
was simply introduced at a time when gaining mindshare was difficult.

Additionally, I believe that our ease-of-use has a lot to with our massive
  levels of adoption.

I do not think so. But we will be making SAP DB be accessible via
the MySQL clients. This makes things much easier for many users.

I do not feel that you can make a claim about work that you are
  not currently participating in.

If you do want to take action to ensure that SAP DB remains a product
that you can use, I would like to invite you to work with us in this effort.

We will be making sure that the community has real and effective ways
to be involved in this project.

Alternately, you have the freedom to work with the existing codebase
under the terms of the GPL or support another project.

Cheers!
