At this point with Satchmo, having run multiple installs, I could definitely
have a simple or large store up & running within an hour. But only because
I've done it so many times. And, I'm willing to bet, also only because I'm
not trying to do it on Windows.

Really, give VirtualBox a go. Quick, easy, and painless to have a virtual
Linux machine on your Windows box where everything works as it should for a
POSIX platform & you have far fewer headaches. Grab a fresh minimal Ubuntu &
you should be rocking in no time.
