Yes, they are very similar if not identical.

Ok so my suspicion was correct. To get rid of the message simply plug
a dummy output on your HTTP input. It'll empty it and avoid overruns.
It's costless and practically riskless.

Not all sources are permanently running. A playlist can be left
"frozen in time" in the middle of a track. But the HTTP inputs don't
disconnect their client so they somehow keep runnning on the input
end.
