Hi Alexander, I'm also quite puzzled by this issue, I don't see what it could be. It doesn't seem like a clock drift, since only the old decoders have issues with the stream.
So... all I can think of are more questions: Do the new hardware decoders decode correctly both MP3 and AAC+ liquidsoap streams? How often do the old decoders disconnect, and is this duration affected by changes in stream quality? Are you streaming through shoutcast or icecast?
