This error tells you that you have the wrong password to connect to your
streaming server.

This is correct. Time is a rare resource and we have decided to focus on
maintaining liquidsoap itself and providing a single installation method to
install it through opam. Feel free to contact your distribution and ask
them if they have any plan to update their liquidsoap packages.
