Hi again,

Thanks for the responses. There seems to be a bit of indecision on this so
I am just going to come out and say it for the benefit of anyone in the
future who needs the answer to this question:

"As of 1.3.3, there is no real, practical way for liquidsoap to show the
next track coming up."

It's not a design limitation. It's simply because of the way liquidsoap is
architect-ed. If knowing the next track is a requirement for you, then
either change your requirement or else utilize tools and scripts external
to liquid soap to feed it tracks and have your external scripts keep track
of that. (For example, if you are simply playing a single playlist in
normal mode, then you can simply script something to query your playlist
file to see what is coming up after the current file.

But for a serious recipe, say where you're playing a daylist during the day
and a nitelist at night, you have a http input cutting in for an hour a
day, as well as a request queue and a live stream that, while empty at the
moment, could interrupt the flow at any time or whatever. Plus you have
jingles and an hourly chime that you don't want to appear as the next track
coming up...then forget it.

I think my listeners appreciate the mystery of not knowing what's coming up
next anyway. :)
