Right there could be some destructive interaction. Still, you have to do
something outside the comment editor, I fancy, for Scid to change the
position, right? In that case the editor would loose the focus, right?

Please have a look at what I did yesterday if this is ok. I'm not sure
myself, it seems to work fine for me, but well, that's only me.

Hm. This would be the last resort, indeed. Would be replacing close by
save & close and making the editor some modal dialog. This would be sort
of "if all else fails" to me. Would be better if we could find a better
way. IMHO.

What do you mean by "over the board"? They show in the game info area
below the board. Surely you don't mean that, right? Do you mean some
tooltip covering the board?

Well, since some time you get this by clicking the comment in the game
info area. Sounds like your idea. (Scid had this function for years but
it was broken at some point in time using a wrong call to

I admit that I would like it very much if I could leave it open. It is
very handy for ALT-Tab switching, indeed.

BTW: as you mention your small screen, you'll surely like that you can
switch of the board in the editor since yestereve. Current cvs also
stores if you hid it or not. Added it this morning.
