This will not work, some people will forget to install engines. Some 
features of Scid rely on embeded engines (Crafty and Phalanx), and I had 
to modify Phalanx (added some xboard commands like "setboard" for 
example). If there is any problem compiling Crafty, it is just because 
Crafty's makefile is called with the wrong parameters from the makefile 
in root directory of Scid : I think Crafty should compile nearly everywhere.
