Hm, actually, I think if I limit the engine to ELO it should
be comparable. I.e. setting Rybka to 1600 should be
approximately the same as Glaurung @1600. Otherwise it
should be "set engine to half it's strength".

Jepp. But they will also all show up for analysis ;) As I'm
at it, if one analyses with several engines its sometimes
hard to predict which is engine 1 and which is engine 2 if I
fire it up by the keyboard. I think (maybe others have
another opinion here) it would be easier if I could set one
engine as my primary analysis engine and another one as the
second engine.

I thought more about a check button (Limit Strength) and a
slider for the value in the serious game dialogue. Similar
to the dialogue you have for tactical games against Phalanx.

One could then still set the engines options and set up e.g.
a "Rybka 1600" and a "Shredder 1800" etc. but if I also
check the "limit strength" button and set it to 1900 I could
fire up the Rybka 1600 engine and it would play at 1900.

There is no real inflation at the moment, you're right. But
as far as I can see this is an option that gets implemented
more and more. And it is especially usefull if you have
engines that announce ELO 3100. This is definitely not much
fun to play them. (Ok, you got me, I've to confess that I'm
slightly weaker than Kasparov ;)

I fear I can not be of much help here and have to much on my
own ToDo yet.
