Thank you for your help, Fulvio; that completely solved my problem.

The method I was using for batch annotation of multiple games worked
in a previous version of Scid but not in Scid 4.7.0; in the earlier
version one could use File -> Open to open a text file containing
multiple PGN games and run the multi-game analysis, whereas in version
4.7.0 one should use Database -> Import File(s) of PGN Games. (So,
in retrospect, I should not have referred to this issue as a "bug";
I simply wasn't using the right command.)

I do realize that "Annotate" does not overwrite the file, and one must
export the annotations manually. I wonder if this might be a useful
feature to add: optionally to save annotations each time a new one
is added, to some user-designated file. That way, if, for example,
the computer crashes 20 hours into an annotation, the work isn't lost.
I suspect that wouldn't be too difficult to implement; it would just
amount to automating "Export Current Game to PGN File" periodically
(and overriding the "no clobber" feature).

Best regards,
Greg Marks
