Andi,
I believe you can program the Cryptoflex under linux, as it is not a Java
card. You would just use standard ADPUs to manipulate the card. I believe
there was a Linux SDK from Schlumberger that would work with the Cyberflex
Access 16K cards, but they are no longer available from what I understand
(this may not be correct - check on Schlumberger's site). I would recommend
the Cryptoflex card out of the two, because it can be used with the
MuscleCard framework, and it is still supported by Schlumberger. You may
check in the User's Forum on Schlumberger's Support site - maybe someone has
confirmed a way to create .cap files using just Linux.
You might also check into a GemPlus card - their Java 2.1 card is capable of
running the MuscleCard applet. I know nothing of their SDK, though - maybe
it is compatible with Linux.
If anyone has any additions or corrections, please feel free to say so.
