What pisses me off is why would they block port 25 to my network? There
are 2 reason for it that I can see:

1. Stop server traffic
2. Stop viruses

Well I am going to generate the same amount of traffic whether I have my
own mail server or I use my ISP email server.

Viruses will only stop if the morons out there in the world figure it
out and start running/updating their virus software. Whether running
windows or some other os, it still has to be done.

CableOne is not the 1st ISP to block port 25.

Sorry I had to speak my mind. If there are any cableone sys admins on
this list, speak your minds and tell corporate assholes to get a clue

Yeah I got that email too. I think some people had some open relay mail
servers running on cableone. Even though you aren't even supposed to
run a server (on home accounts) according to the TOS. They have never
botherd me before though (other than the mail issue now) . ;)
