"everyone"

Hey,

I'm going to be unavailable for the next three Saturdays (Matt couldn't
make the first two). How about moving the meeting to the 4th or 5th
Saturday this month? Any takers?

I like the idea of going over some the old topics, most of them are
really good topics and are due for updates. I would also love to have
folks cover topics such as BSD, anything about security, how Ryan P.
setup and uses an HA system (whoa - that sounds like a lot of fun), or
even how to use prefix. How about configuring snort and honeypots to
make an internal IDS system. Is anyone using Tripwire? I'm also
interested in how to setup encrypted VPN pipes using IPSec on the 2.6
kernel. Has anyone tried any embedded projects yet?

We could even have some of you folks rent a dolly, bring in those old
RISC based RS/6000 boxes in and see if we can get Linux running on them
or install some GNU tools, Samba or Apache on top of whatever OS they
have. They were pretty awesome boxes back in the day. Does anyone have
an old VAX PDP or MicroVax or an old IBM mainframe or miniframe? Maybe
we should think about having some kind of antique computer Linux install
marathon... to see how many different types of computers we can get
Linux running on in 24 hours or something. I wonder what the world
record is?

We need to get people to volunteer to do presentations or lead meeting
activities or labs. Presentations don't have to be long, two or three
good twenty-minute presentations can make a good meeting. Just email
this mail list or [EMAIL PROTECTED] to volunteer to do something.

Brion.

I definitely like the BSD idea. I would be interested in assisting a
BSD something or other....
