Hi Jack

As I'm currently re-editing William Vickers' ms for publication I searched
through my notes and found 4 x 6/8 frolics and 4 x 4/4 frolics, so I don't
think it has a specific meaning. Interestingly, there is a tune called just
'The Frolic' which is a 4/4 version of Orange & Blue, more usually a jig.

Regarding the music sheets published by Gow & Shepherd, no these are not in
Gore's index. I've only seen a couple of them myself, one of which establishes
Nathaniel Gow's authorship of the fine jig Morgiana In Ireland.

Cheers
