Thanks, I've still got a good external modem I had before I went to cable. It may be overkill, but I know I am gonna hate going back to a dial up connection. My cable modem is actually running at 512Kb although I am paying the standard rate for a 64Kb connection. I am not sure why I have the higher speed but I know of a few other folk who took the standard 64kb but got the 512 Kb service. I have been expecting NTL to call and say "sorry, made a mistake" and put me down to 64kb in the hope that I will get fed up with a "slow speed" and pay the �20 to get back the 512kb access.
