Hi all, I have a server with a SCSI attached RAID box here. It's getting a bit long in the tooth and running out of space so I had planned to replace it - only problem is I can't find SCSI attached RAID devices anywhere - plenty of NAS / SAN and even clever (but very proprietary) devices for linking up arrays of IDE drives to a PCI bus.
Unfortunately the network this is going onto runs at 10Mb and I need to be able to backup to DDS each night - at that speed the tape is going to be constantly starting and stopping if I have to backup across the network (won't it?). I also know that I can get NAS (e.g. Intelliraid) which can have a tape drive installed - but then what about disaster recovery? Any suggestions?
