There are a lot of tags out there that don't make much sense. Like, the
other day I heard two of my friends talking about Korn, and they said that
Korn was "alternative metal." What in the hell is alternative metal?
Wouldn't the alternative to metal be wood? And then there are bands that
have worked for a long time not just to be style-less, but genre-less, such
as Beck and Beasite Boys, yet they're still filed in with all the rest of
rock. When music ceases to become image and selling and again becomes
thoughts, ideas, and emotions, and having musical talent, I don't think
we'll have tags anymore, since all four do away with teenybop and rap, 1 2 &
3 do away with country, and all four are definitely NOT mainstream. What a
sad, sick, fucked-up world we live in ...
