On that note I would like to tell you guys about what I have been listening
to this past weekend. The band is "Jejune" and the album is "This Afternoons
Malady", it contains bright and airy vocals that while they would sound at
home on any dream/pop cd do not come across as pretentious. There are lovely
harmonies and asides throughout the singing on this San Diego based 3 pieced
bands cd, the vocal leads are alternated between the male guitar player and
the female bassist. The song structure is intricate and non-standard and
like most of the music I like it contains a more then health does of
crushing to soaring guitar work.
I will go out on a limb here and say I can't perceive of many SDRE fans
disliking this album, not because they sound like SDRE [they don't] but
because it is a very listenable piece of work with a broad range of elements
to the sound.
