Again, not attacking any person, but some ideas...
Yes, actually I think it's alright for us to realize that music like SDRE is
greater than usual music. Personally I have no problem with thinking that I'm
better than everyone else because I am a musician, and listen to good music.
Not just Sunny Day, but listening to lots of different music makes it alright
for you to kind of think that you are above everyone else musically. I have
trouble thinking some 7th grade girl who listens to NSYNC is as good as me
listening to sunny day real estate, and lots of other music. Atleast
understanding the lyrics of SDRE, and bands like Mineral shows that you can
enjoy listening to something deeper, and thus maybe proving you are a little
more musically intelligent. I'm not saying there's really ANYTHING wrong with
music like N'SYNC, I mean sure some of it sounds good, and it's fun to listen
to (Even though the guys in can't prove they're musicians in any way except
singing because they don't even write their own music!) Unless any music
doesn't atleast sounds good, is good music, totally rocks, or gives some kind
of strong emotion, than I can't say there's anything wrong with it. So in
some way I agree with what Ferris stated, but I still believe that Sunny Day
is definitely better music than most. That's all
