Just to play Keanu Reeves here, what is musical intelligence? What is
'deep music'? These philisophical questions are beyond me and everyone
else because no matter what a person likes, they will claim it is
musically intelligent and deep. To get sci-fi here, go to a star trek
newsgroup and ask why it's better than Babylon 5. Better writing, better
special effects. Go to a Babylon 5 newgroup,a sk why it's better. Better
writing, better special effects. Which has better writing, which has
better special effects? Which is deeper, which is more musically
intelligent?
Well, it's a matter of taste, and chances are, people aren't about to
admit to listening to unintelligent music.
It's too bad there isn't a litmus test of music intelligence, it would
settle the question once and for all.
