I'm going to throw in my 2 cents with a thumbs down on Joyent.
Downtime with clients calling me was just too difficult.  I had my
subversion repository with them.  I'll post that experience later.

I don't have any specific recommendations, but here's a list of all
the usual suspects... Slicehost, Planet Argon, Rimu Hosting,
RailsMachine, EngineYard, and Joyent.
