This was a note to a friend of mine. I ended up at RimuHosting. One
massive power outage in Dallas is the only time I've had a problem.
My VPS needed a second reboot and they were all over it support wise.

---
I setup a TextDrive account right after RailsConf as they were a
sponsor of the event and I wanted a quality Rails hosting service. So
far, the downtime (12 hours last time), service (iTunes server can't
access podcasts hosted there without undocumented .htaccess file. 5
hours of my time.), deployment (support tickets are required with a
multi-step Rails install) has been appalling. I've had more success
and performance with Rails from GoDaddy, my cheap provider.
---

P.S. That 12 hour downtime included my Subversion repository for me
and other developers during crunchtime. Requests to restore the
backup of the repository to an alternate machine were not denied but
completely ignored.

I'm going to throw in my 2 cents with a thumbs down on Joyent.
Downtime with clients calling me was just too difficult. I had my
subversion repository with them. I'll post that experience later.
