Re: [Dx4win] PSK-31 Receive Set-up
We had the same idea. The squelch is too high by default in dx4win. Try lower it. I got stumped on the first step in the setup of PSK31 in DX4WIN manual. With the PSK31 window open I see no signals or noise on the displays. As a test, if I switch to the MMTTY window I see noise. I can change the amplitude of the display noise level using the Line-In soundcard slider. When I switch back to the PXK31 window there is no visual indication that audio is getting to the PSK321 window - even when moving the Line-In level from zero to max audio in. If I right click in the gray area of PSK31 window and select RX Volume no window opens. I’m using WIN7 with Real Tec sound. What do I need to do to get PSK31 to see audio in – a received signal? Re: [Dx4win] Cabrillo file
Nope, will not. Not a contesting program per the author (other than the minor ability it has). Cabrillo needs special headers and format for each contest so would be too much worth anyway. Contest in another program (e.g, N1MM) and export ADIF from that and import into DX4WIN. You can output in ADIF and then convert to Cabrillo (I think) in some software. You enter all the header info when asked and it creates. Also, WA7BNM's site has a Cabrillo generator that does similar and you paste in your log (or type in your log) for small ones. I can look up more info if you do not find yourself or get in many replies. Re: [Dx4win] Cabrillo file
Bottom line... Can't be done from DX4Win. You can do it though by taking the ADIF file from DX4Win and using one of the conversion programs to covert that file to a Cabrillo file for a specific contest. See Jim's - AD1C website I believe for the conversion program. The reason is a lot of the different contests that you would send a Cabrillo file to use different fields in a Cabrillo file. So you would have to program in each different contest Cabrillo file fields into DX4Win. A LOT of extra programming and they change quite often. Unlike the ADIF file... The thinking is DX4Win is a logging program and not a contest program. 73, Brian - NX0X -Original Message- From: George To: dx4win Sent: Mon, Jun 24, 2013 7:10 pm Subject: [Dx4win] Cabrillo file Will DX4WIN export a log file in Cabrillo format? Re: [Dx4win] [microHAM] MicroKeyer2, DX4WIN, HDSDR and Omni-Rig
NOW: I had an idea to make at least the spotting click work via the CAT control from DX4WIN to HDSDR: Radio 1 preferences of DX4WIN were set to Kenwood (protocol supported by HDSDR) on CAT COM 11 (created by Router) and the HDSDR option was configured to control HDSDR on the same CAT port. You can not *under any circumstances* open the same port with two programs. You *must* have two ports - either a software "splitter" as provided by the CAT and 2nd CAT capability of microHAM Router (and some other logging packages), or the logger must use OmniRig to share control. I have never used HDSDR and am not a regular user of DX4Win so you're on your own with your custom software configuration. I know the concept is workable as I have run DXLab Suite, N1MM Logger or WriteLog with and NaP3 or PowerSDR IF Stage in that configuration on my own system. 73, ... Re: [Dx4win] [microHAM] MicroKeyer2, DX4WIN, HDSDR and Omni-Rig
Hi Larry, In fact, I have never checked the real polling rate, but in preferences I have set it to 500ms and supposed it polls the radio at that rate. Now, when you asked, I counted number of polls of my FT1000MP on its CAT blinking indicator and it blinked 30 times in 32 seconds, i.e. 1 per second... Then I changed to 100ms and saved, it started blinking rapidly several times then resumed exactly as before, at 1 per second. I changed to 5000: it started blinking rapidly then resumed again at 1 per second... When I Stop the Radio in DX4WIN, CAT stops blinking (off). But when I exit DX4WIN, CAT lights permanently for about 10 secs, goes off in a fraction of second and goes ON for another 10 secs, because the microHAM Router polls it very fast and follows the frequency changes almost immediately. So, I think there is an interaction between DX4WIN and Router, making the polling time fixed to 1 seconds whatever is saved in Preferences ! Maybe Joe will tell us how it exactly works. 73, Radi F6GNZ > > De : Larry Gauthier (K8UT) >À : "Radivoj Kar, F6GNZ" ; DX4WIN Refelector > >Envoyé le : Lundi 24 juin 2013 12h00 >Objet : Re: [Dx4win] [microHAM] MicroKeyer2, DX4WIN, HDSDR and Omni-Rig > > >If you have measured DX4Win polling at 500ms please describe how you are >doing that. Re: [Dx4win] [microHAM] MicroKeyer2, DX4WIN, HDSDR and Omni-Rig
If you have measured DX4Win polling at 500ms please describe how you are doing that. The last time I experimented with polling, any >Preferences setting below 2000ms was software-adjusted so that it never polled faster than every 2 seconds. -larry (K8UT) -Original Message- From: Radivoj Kar, F6GNZ Sent: Monday, June 24, 2013 2:26 AM To: Joe Subich, W4TV ; DX4WIN Refelector Subject: Re: [Dx4win] [microHAM] MicroKeyer2, DX4WIN, HDSDR and Omni-Rig Thanks Joe ! I have created an additional port for COM2 and set Omni-rig to this port with 1200 ms polling time (DX4WIN polls each 500ms). All works fine except when I select both Sync from Omni-Rig and Sync to Omni-rig to be able to set TX to RX-ed frequency but also to set RX frequency by clicking on the DX4WIN spots. In this case my IC706 starts to "walk" frequencies, like it had gone to the scanning modeSo, must chose only one way sync... best 73, Radi F6GNZ De : "Joe Subich, W4TV" À : f6gnz ; microham Envoyé le : Samedi 22 juin 2013 15h02 Objet : Re: [microHAM] MicroKeyer2, DX4WIN, HDSDR and Omni-Rig If you are trying to configure a splitter function, you could try connecting HDSDR/OmniRig to Router's 2nd CAT port. Otherwise, your logger developer will probably need to provide an OmniRig option where OmniRig serves both HDSRD and the logger. Note, if you use Router's 2nd CAT port, it will be necessary to set any polling from HDSDR/OmniRig to the very minimum (slowest possible) to prevent overloading the control channel between Router and the MK II. 73, ... I can control SDR with HDSDR program and synchronize FT1000MP/IC706 frequencies/modes via the Omni-Rig program interfaced with HDSDR. This combination works perfectly, but now my DX4WIN becomes useless as it can't read nor control the radio, saying "ie_Open, device already open" and "Could not open COM4 for keying, ie_Open, device already open" when I try to Start the Radio. So, I can't log the QSOs with related radio data (mode, freq's) nor use spot clicks to set up the TX/RX frequencies, nor control my antenna rotator. Is there any way to make the above combination work together??? Regards, Radi F6GNZ This list is for the exchange of information about the use and operation of microHAM products.
