Dotty, I can't say enough about accupuncture. You will need to find a holistic vet in your area. Not only do they cure the problems but they presrcibe immune system support as well as other herbs. Hi Kat, Yup, or ehrlichiosis, or toxoplasmosis, and even bartonella (as opposed to Hemobart/Mycoplasma felis) is sometimes responsive to Doxy. That's why I was curious as to the reason for that particular Abx. Especially appropriate if Jynx had/has outdoor access. There are so many variables ( At this point I really just treat the symtoms or conjectured causes of whatever comes up. Re: [Felvtalk] remedy for feline UTI?
Hi Dot, Glad to hear the good news about Tiger. Success stories need to be told :) Shamus. Poor thing. What kind of crystals? When you say "surgical procedure" what was it? I usually think of catheterization _or_ surgery, so I'm wondering just what was done. When was this? I'm unsure from your post whether this happened last year, or recently. What is happening that makes you think the infection is ongoing? Inflammation can cause some symptoms that may mimic a UTI, has a C&S been done? Sounds as if it has, and that would confirm or help rule out infection, and make sure the correct Abx is in use. If there is inflammation, there are things that may help, corn silk is a possibility. Much as I hate to recommend a yahoo group under the current conditions, this one is very helpful; http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/FLUTD/info Two of my FeLV boys have had struvite crystals, and for one it is what caused his first flare-up. It can take a long time to resolve the issues, including long term antibiotics. Hi Dotty, Congrats on helping Tiger! It's so nice to hear about happy endings. Re: [Felvtalk] remedy for feline UTI?
Hi everyone out there. It's me again - Dotty. With another cat problem. But first, an update on Tiger. I want you all to know that because of your help and support and advice and financial assistance, Tiger is a success story. He was vetted last year by me and finally given to my sister in law. He has overcome his gum issues with the FIV and wheezing problem finally. He has a wonderful, loving home with my sister in law and niece as an indoor cat. He has filled out and is very healthy and happy. I owe a part of his success to you - to the people who were able to contribute to his costly care. And to everyone in this group - a wonderful group full of supportive people and full of advice, stories and a wealth of tried and true information. Thank you all.
