[Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115507] Style names become invisible if the default style used white color
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115507 --- Comment #15 from Thomas Lendo --- (In reply to m.a.riosv from comment #14) > 'Inverted' it's not show what the user does, seems to me a clear > contradiction about what is requested. The point is: We need contrast in showing bright font colors with no background color in the style assigned. This is a realistic szenario if maybe the page background has a dark color. Showing white font on transparent/white background is bad UX. Also we need more contrast in case of bug 94397 (and I think it's not a dupe of this) when the highlighting of LibO results in too few contrast in sidebar or drop-downs. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=111987 Aron Budea changed: What|Removed |Added Blocks||111928 --- Comment #8 from Aron Budea --- Marnix added useful information in bug 115842 indicating the issue might be tied to the Quickstarter: "The bug still exists: the colleague using the Win10 Pro with the HD Graphics 630 reported the issue resurfaced the morning after reenabling the Quickstarter. She reports it occurs when opening an Excel-file using Calc; I guess it will also occur using writer, but her work involves mainly spreadsheets. She told me that when she ran into the bug while the Quickstarter was enabled, she kills the Libre process using task manager. When reopening the file, the menus would be normal. This workaround, together with my own workaround (replugging a monitor cable) made me think: could it be that the Quickstarter fails to detect the available screen space? That would explain the bug (zero height menus, because the renderer thinks there is no space for the menu to load) and the used workarounds (which both force Libre to remeasure the available screen space)." https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115488 Aron Budea changed: What|Removed |Added Version|3.3.0 release |Inherited From OOo Blocks||87351 OS|Mac OS X (All) |All --- Comment #6 from Aron Budea --- This issue is not specific to macOS. Two problem areas are these functions: https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/core/data/conditio.cxx#2270 sal_uInt32 ScConditionalFormatList::getMaxKey() const https://opengrok.libreoffice.org/xref/core/sc/source/core/data/conditio.cxx#2046 ScConditionalFormat* ScConditionalFormatList::GetFormat( sal_uInt32 nKey ) They are both linear searches over m_ConditionalFormats, so with many conditional format entries that can take a while. What could be done? The comparison is done against the nKey coming from the individual entries in m_ConditionalFormats (currently a set of pointers to ScConditionalFormat objects). One problem is that those nKey-s are set outside in the code, first by querying an available one from the ScConditionalFormatList (that's what getMaxKey() is for), setting it in the ScConditionalFormat, then adding it to the list, ie. in 'sal_uLong ScTable::AddCondFormat(...)', 'void ScTable::CopyConditionalFormat(...)' and 'ScCondFormatDlg::OkPressed()'. If managing nKey was internalized in ScConditionalFormatList, then it could keep track of the max (making it a constant time operation), and keep the conditional formats in a data structure sorted by nKey (making searching on nKey logarithmic). I'm not familiar with the code, so I can't tell if anything else could prevent this change. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116352] New: Use GtkRevealer to animate showing/ hiding contextual toolbars
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116352 Bug ID: 116352 Summary: Use GtkRevealer to animate showing/hiding contextual toolbars Product: LibreOffice Version: unspecified Hardware: All OS: Linux (All) Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: enhancement Priority: medium Component: graphics stack Assignee: libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org Reporter: nekoh...@gmail.com One thing that has been bugging me for a long time with LibreOffice is how docked contextual toolbars (ex: if I click on an image and the image controls toolbar shows up underneath the main formatting bar) just show up abruptly without a transitional animation for the UI. When running the GTK3 version, I would like those UI elements to slide out smoothly, like what we see in GNOME applications. [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 115507] Style names become invisible if the default style used white color
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=115507 --- Comment #13 from Thomas Lendo --- (In reply to Heiko Tietze from comment #7) > But actually I tend to agree with m.a.riosv to keep it full WYSIWYG (comment > 4) since using a white font on white background (or vice versa) has been > done intentionally by the user. The alternative is to highlight the > selection like for default styles (such as Test 1 with automatic and none > colors). I think the current situation is very bad UX. As a user I assume: 1) The "Show Preview" command for paragraph and character styles shows several visual attributes of the style (all attributes of Font, 'Font Effect', Highlight and Area tabs, maybe attributes from 'Indents & Spacing' tab like in MSO and Position, Transparency and Borders tabs) to see what it changes if assigned to text. This isn't true today as it only shows font style and font color attributes. More? 2) If only some attributes are changed (for example light grey font color but no background color change) then the NOT changed attributes (here: background color) should be inverted to a value that the user can see his font color with enough contrast as Heiko said in comment 5. This isn't implemented yet. 3) For the user, it should always be clear what style is currently selected at the page and what style was clicked by the user in the Styles sidebar. This is true today but should be kept in mind when implementing 2). Deactivating "Show Preview" is no solution for this issue. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116307 V Stuart Foote changed: What|Removed |Added Status|NEW |RESOLVED CC||vstuart.fo...@utsa.edu Resolution|--- |DUPLICATE --- Comment #14 from V Stuart Foote --- (In reply to Peter Gervai from comment #13) It is RTL as encoded for the block by its acceptance by Unicode as Old Hungarian (10c80-10cff)--that is the only development standard we are bound to. So a Unicode compliant RTL--is the only handling LO will implement using standard ICU BiDi library handling for the language block. >From the LibreOffice projects perspective it is a RTL, Complex Text Language. And folks choosing to place glyphs from the code block LTR must override the applied ICU BiDi defaults. Closing this as dupe of 116322 which is the more general case of string entries in Calc not observing ICU BiDi control for Strong RTL script by code block. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 116322 *** -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs

The Cycle case control rotates through just 3 ICU Transliteration configurations as initially implemented [1]. Adding a fourth for SentenceCase [2][3] should be possible, and seems appropriate--especially as the uno.ChangeCaseToSentenceCase action is otherwise just available in the Format -> Text menu, but can be added in customize. The translated Function name "Cycle Case (Title Case, UPPERCASE, lowercase)" wss getting rather long--suggest we remove the parenthetical examples and assign it a tooltip instead? [Libreoffice-bugs] [Bug 116307] LibreOffice Calc use Old Hungarian script as LTR. Need RTL rendering
https://bugs.documentfoundation.org/show_bug.cgi?id=116307 --- Comment #13 from Peter Gervai --- (In reply to Kovács Viktor from comment #12) > I am sorry, I was little bit nervous. I set back it to UNCONFIRMED, because > I had thought before it fixed. Apology accepted. My problem is that this writing system is a target of nationalism, lot of nationalist bias and misinformation (about the writing style and usage details of the script). Some sources of information (mainly about real technicalities, like the direction of the writing; but many of them about claimed use cases) are unreliable or strongly biased. A few years back I have tried to gather info on the topic from lot of "idependent" (=not politically motivated) sources and the result were that the writing system were used differently and by different people as it has been claimed by some Hungarian "authority on the subject". One case was specifically the directionality which I gathered was not restricted to one direction and plenty of archeological findings showed LTR, RTL or vertical use. (The historical ambiguities and its related politically motivated background is really not interesting from our point of view; LO shall support the writing systems which really exist and all of their possible uses; while we cannot quite establish that it existed in the wild after the 17th century it's definitely used by lots of people in the 20th and 21th century, for various reasons. I think the level of support should be the same as other ancient scripts not in everyday use anymore.) All in all: it is used in both directions by scholars and people enthusiastic about this historical script, recent uses prefer RTL. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are the assignee for the bug.___ Libreoffice-bugs mailing list Libreoffice-bugs@lists.freedesktop.org https://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/libreoffice-bugs
