I've got a 99 (turbo), but I know it idles like crap when cold with
leaking fuel lines. Any leak at all will do it.

Oh yeah, spray the top of your IP with carb cleaner to get it clean and
dry and check it in a week, if you have ANY moisture there it is probably
Diesel fuel==leaking IP seals. That will make it hard to start after
sitting and idle like crap.

I like Soot better.

months time. Could I have put the intake thingy on wrong?

It is fairly easy to pull the intake pipe which will reveil the

I thought it might be that. Wonders how I could get suds in there.
Clean as a whistle last time I peaked and am going to run some diesel
kleen just to make sure I get injectors tidy. Then some HEET, red to
take care of any water.

I am just guessing here, but if the EGR is active, you may have a lot of sud
built up in the intake/resonator manifold.
It is fairly easy to pull the intake pipe which will reveil the condition.
