Re: [NTG-context] LuaTeX on Mac OS X

2007-10-02 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Hans,

Thank you for your concern.

There is no non-ascii character in folder names except ~/Documents/.

And the TeX directory is

/usr/local/texlive/{2007, texmf-local}/...

By the way, where is setuptex command which can be used in Mac? I
tried before as in the wiki, but it couldn't find such a command.

Thank you again.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

Re: [NTG-context] LuaTeX on Mac OS X

2007-10-05 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Thomas, Hans, and all

I am sorry to give another noise to you. I did install luatex once
more and I'd like to report the results.

I removed TeX completely and reinstalled gwTeX again.
After that I followed the instructions given by Thomas. I made
.luatex for the variables which contains the following lines:

export TEXMFCACHE=/tmp
export TEXMFCNF=/usr/local/gwTeX
export TEXMF={/Users/dalyoung/Library/texmf,/usr/local/gwTeX/
texmf.local,/usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.pkgs,/usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.gwtex,/
usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.texlive,/usr/local/gwTeX/texmf}
export LUAINPUTS={/usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.pkgs/tex/context/base,/usr/
local/gwTeX/texmf.pkgs/scripts/context/lua}

After running source .luatex, luatools --generate worked well.
I tried to run luatools --ini --verbose --compile cont-en, but
there are several error occurred.

1. ...

[NTG-context] 'TeX capacity exceeded' problem

2007-10-11 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

Finally, luatools is working(gwTeX, Mac OSX 10.4).

Following the instruction given by Thomas, I succeeded to run
'luatools --generate'
but I got an error when I run 'luatools --ini --compile --verbose
cont-en'.
There is a memory problem for the languages.
Following the suggestion, I add a line 'trie_size = 40' at the
end of texmf.cnf in the folder /usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.cnf.
After that 'luatools --ini --compile --verbose cont-en' is running
without error and the format file is created in the folder /tmp/
luatex-cache/context/...

I test it using a simple file like
\starttext
some texts
\startlua
a = 1.5
b = 1.8
c = a*b
tex.print(c)
\stoplua
\stoptext

and it was working nicely.

But when I tested a sample file in the wiki,

\usetypescript[palatino]
\setupbodyfont[palatino,12pt]
\starttext
effe fietsen 2: \input tufte $\sqrt{2}$ \eogonek
\sc effe fietsen 2: \input tufte $\sqrt{2}$ \eogonek
\stoptext

I got a fatal error. Here are some lines in log file.

Re: [NTG-context] typesetting a formula as a figure

2007-11-23 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Idris,

I have used buffers and \plcadefigures to display formula and figure
together. Here is my short sample file.

\startbuffer[one]
\startformula \startmatrix
\NC \NC e_1 \NC e_2 \NC e_3 \NC e_5 \NC e_5 \NR
\NC u \NC 0 \NC 1 \NC 1 \NC 0 \NC 1 \NR
\NC  v \NC 1 \NC 0 \NC 1 \NC 0 \NC 0 \NR
\NC w \NC 1 \NC 1 \NC 0 \NC 1 \NC 0 \NR
\NC x \NC 0 \NC 0 \NC 1 \NC 0 \NC 1 \NR
\NC y \NC 1 \NC 0 \NC 0 \NC 1 \NC 0 \NR
\stopmatrix \stopformula
\stopbuffer

\starttext

\placefigure[here][fig:test]{Test of buffers}
{\startcombination[2*2]
{\externalfigure[7starmagic1][width=.25\makeupwidth]}{G}
{\externalfigure[one.tmp]}{AA}
{\externalfigure[one.tmp]}{BB}
{\externalfigure[one.tmp]}{CC}
\stopcombination}

\stoptext

Then, I got a strange output(fig 1: wide blank spaces between
columns). If I use \getbuffer instead of \externalfigure, I got
somewhat proper output(fig 2), but the figure is located much higher
than the matrix(horizontal alignment is bad).

What is wrong in my sample? Is there any option for \startcombination?

Thank you.

Best wishes,

Dalyoung

[NTG-context] checking mainlanguage setup

2011-05-27 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

Is it possible to check what is the mainlanguage set in document?
Now, I use \enablemode[kr] to do something A. But, I'd like to do it
automatically if possible.

For example,

I'd like to do the following type of setup.

if mainlanguage == kr then

do something A

elseif mainlanguage == en then

do something B

else
do something C

endif

So, if \mainlanguage[kr] is set, then do A, and etc.

Thank you for reading.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

Re: [NTG-context] checking mainlanguage setup

2011-05-27 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Pontus, Marco, and Peter,

Thank you for replies.

I tested the following codes:

1)
\startluacode
if languages.current() == kr then
context(Korean)
else
context(Not Korean)
end
\stopluacode

2)
\doifelse\currentlanguage{en}{\def\lang{English}}{\def\lang{Not English}}\par
currentlanguage: \lang

are working well.

But, the code

\startluacode
if languages.current() == kr then
context([[\def\lang{Korean}]]) %(\def\lang{Korean})
else
context([[\def\lang{English}]]) %(\def\lang{Korean})
end
\stopluacode

currentlanguage: \lang

is not working. (undifined control sequence error)

I think that there is a simple way to use lua code for this which I don't know.
I have to read CLD manual.

Thanks again.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

 According to http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Modes#System_modes ,
 the mode **kr should be automatically set if kr is the main language
 (I haven't tried it, though).

2011-06-01 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Hans and Wolfgang,

Thank you for the comments and samples.

 What exactly do you plan to do with the language check, for simple texts your
 method is overkill and labeltexts are better suited, even a command which
 prints a text can be written in TeX without problems:

Yes, you are right. Those methods are beyonds of my normal use.
For me, either \doifelse or context.setvalue is enough to set some labels
depending on two languages, Korean and English. However, it is a good
oppertunity to know various methods and lua codes.

I didn't know that \labeltext can do the same thing. Your sample gives me a new
ideas to handle them.

Thank you so much.

Re: [NTG-context] Metafun shifting pictures - again

2011-06-22 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Hi all,

I got the reason why the pictures locate in different position.
rotation causes the problem.

I defined domino as follows.
It is not the exact code but just show the form of the codes.

...
def domino (a, b, c, d  )
save pic;
picture pic;
draw something 1;
draw something 2;
pic := currentpicture;
draw pic rotated 90 shifted ( c, d );
enddef;

and call it using

\startbuffer[domino3]
domino (1, 2, 3, 4);
domino (2, 1, 1, 2);
domino (3, 3, 2, 3);
\stopbuffer

and \processMPbuffer[].

it draw the first domino at the right place, but it is rotated when the second
domino is drawn. Hence, it actually rotated 180 degree. Also two dominos
rotated again when the third domino is drawn.
Previous drawings are rotated again again when the function domino called.

How to avoid this problem? How to draw one figure and move to wanted position
and draw another figure and move to another location without changing the
previous figure?

If you want to see the whole codes, please see the attachment in the previous
mail in ntg-context Digest, Vol 84, Issue 94.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

is

1.1 one
1.2 two

But is it possible to suppress the prefix chapter number like

1 one
2 two
?

2. When defining custom itemgroup, we can set each level using the predefined
item headers, like n, r, 1, 2, , and it works fine.
I am trying to use newly defined conversion, but I couldn't succeed. Is it
possible to set an itemgroup using predefined item and custom made item head
like

\def\circlednum#1{\uchar{36}{95+#1}}
\defineconversion[cnum][\circlednum]
?

Thank you and Have a nice weekend.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

Re: [NTG-context] about suppressing prefix in section number

2011-07-17 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Wolfgang,

Thank you for the solutions.

But for the question 2, I didn't explain well what I want to.

Actually, the codes

 \def\circlednum#1{\uchar{36}{95+#1}}
 \defineconversion[cnum][\circlednum]

working well by saying that \startitemize[cnum][stopper=] ...
And, your suggested method works well, too.

My question is that is it able to define new itemize header, for example,
circled number using \defineitemgroup so that I got circled number in the 3rd
level automatically without saying that \startitemize[cnum].
In the wiki,
  \defineitemgroup[ltxitm][levels=5]
  %
  \setupitemgroup[ltxitm][1][1]
  \setupitemgroup[ltxitm][2][2]
  \setupitemgroup[ltxitm][3][3,packed]
  \setupitemgroup[ltxitm][4][4,packed]
  \setupitemgroup[ltxitm][5][5,packed]
  %
I tried to define the third level with cnum, but it is not working. Some
official documents has their own numbering system. In that case, it is very
convenient to define new itemgroup following its rule and forget defining the
symbol for each level every time.
There is no problem to use predefined symbols but I couldn't succeed to insert
my defined symbol for some level.
Is there a way to do that?

Thank you again.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

Dear Wolfgang,

 \setupitemgroup[ltxitm][3][circlednumber,packed][stopper=]

It is working.
It depends on the fonts.

Also,

\def\circlednum#1{\uchar{36}{95+#1}}
\defineconversion[cnum][\circlednum]

\defineitemgroup[txitm][levels=5]

\setupitemgroup[txitm][1][R]
\setupitemgroup[txitm][2][a]
\setupitemgroup[txitm][3][cnum,packed][stopper=]

is working too.

[NTG-context] unwanted page break

2011-07-17 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I have a strange output today.

Writing a sentences, it makes a page break even though there are enough space
for the remaining sentences.

Here are sample output.(the lines is a frame)
As you see there are enough space, I think.

inline: bottom.tiff

inline: topnewpage.jpg

Sometimes, the section title is located at the bottom of the page, so I put
\page to make the new section starts from a new page. In this case, is it
possible to make section starts from a new page without saying \page?

Thank you for reading.

[NTG-context] how to make \getmarking[title] show using default font size?

2011-07-25 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

For the header text, I used \getmarking as follows:

\setupheadertexts[][{\getmarking[{\v!title}]}]

Then it showed title in the header as shown in the text which is bigger than
default bodyfont size.
It is rather big for the header text.

How to make it using the default font size or smaller one?

Thank you.

[NTG-context] solved-how to make \getmarking[title] show using default font size?

2011-07-25 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

For the header text, I used \getmarking as follows:

\setupheadertexts[][{\getmarking[{\v!title}]}]

This problem comes from my setting which is as follows:

\title{\ss\bf\tfb Title}

I changed it by using the definition as follows:

\def\Mytitle#1{%
\framedtext
[width=\overlaywidth,
height=5\bodyfontsize,
background=color,
backgroundcolor=lightgray,
offset=2pt,
strut=no,
frame=off,
align=middle,
top=\vss,
bottom=\vss]{

\setuphead[title][textcommand=\Mytitle]

This makes everything fine.

[NTG-context] scaling the mp figure in ConTeXt

\processMPbuffer[test]

But sometimes, I need to rescaling the mp figure to fit the page.
Is there a way of rescaling the figure at the stage \processMPbuffer or

In the above example, I got a circle of radius 3cm. How to get a circle of

Re: [NTG-context] many warnings after updating

2007-02-10 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Helin,

I followed Taco's solution.

http://archive.contextgarden.net/message/
20070130.082837.4bc51f61.en.html

In brief,

1. make a folder
/usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.texlive/fonts/map/pdftex/context/
2. copy all files in the folder
/usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.texlive/fonts/map/dvips/lm/
 to the folder
/usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.texlive/fonts/map/pdftex/context/
3. check the following(locate the lm-math.map file):
kpsewhich lm-math.map
if the output is /usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.texlive/fonts/map/pdftex/
context/lm-math.map,
then, do

ctxtools --dpx --force /usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.texlive

Then new files will be in

/usr/local/gwTeX/texmf.texlive/fonts/map/dvipdfm/context/

4. you may need a permission for su.

Doing the above process, all the warnings were gone.
Good luck!

Best regards,

Dalyoung.

[NTG-context] how to change 'figure 1.1' to ' 그림 1.1'

2007-09-06 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Hello,

\placefloat will put 'figure 1.1' or 'table 1.1' below the figures(or
tables).

I'd like to change figure or table to my own language.
I looked into the manual, but there is no option which change figure
or table.

I tried definefloat[그림][그림들], but ConTeXt did not accept it.

Is there a way to change them?

Thank you.

Best regards,

\setupbackgrounds[header][text][bottomframe=on,topframe=on]
\setupheadertexts[][header\hfill header\hfill header]
\setuppagenumbering[location=footer]

[NTG-context] About Chapter head definition and FunnyFrame

2012-09-02 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I have two questions.

1. I defined \Myheader and use it to shape the chapter head as following:

\def\Myheader#1#2{%
\framedtext
[width=\overlaywidth,
height=9\bodyfontsize,
background=color,
backgroundcolor=lightgray,
offset=2pt,
strut=no,
frame=off,
align={middle, middle}]
{
{\tfb 제 #1 장}
\blank[big]
{\sans #2} }}

\startsectionblockenvironment[bodypart]
\setupheadertexts[][{\tfx COUNTING}]
\setuppagenumber[number=1]
\setuppagenumbering[alternative={singlesided,doublesided},location={footer,right}]
\setuphead[chapter][command=\Myheader,before={\dontleavehmode\blank[2*big]},after={\blank[5*big]},
 page=right]
\stopsectionblockenvironment

….

\chapter{The Addition Principle \crlf {\tfx Sum Rule}}

….

But it produces an error which is

…
! Argument of \Myheader has an extra }.

systemtex error on line 94 in file SumRule.tex
…

What is wrong in this code?

2. I used funnyFrame defined in the MetaFun book. It works fine except that
it is left aligned. I'd like to put such a frame in the middle. But
\startalignment[middle] didn't work.
Is there any way to make FunnyFrame center aligned?

Thank you for the reading.

[NTG-context] how to make 3-line header?

In simpleslide module, we can set many lines for a title.

Dear Aditya,

Thank you for your nice solution.

 \startformula \startalign[n=1]
 \NC equation 1 \NR
 \NC equation 2 \NR
 \NC \startmatrix[left={\left.}, right={\right\}}, n=1, align=middle]
 \NC equation 3 \NR

 \NC equation 5 \NR
\stopmatrix
some text here   \NR
 \NC equation 6 \NR

It works nicely.
I erase \NR after equation 5 because it makes another blank line below eq 5.

 Math support will be reworked at some stage in MkIV.

\item it is a test lihe.
\item it is a test lihe.
\item it is a test lihe.
\item it is a test lihe.

Re: [NTG-context] strange hang during compilation

2011-02-09 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Hans,

 Localization is not that complex ... mostly a matter of extending tables ...
 just let us know what you have in mind.

Ok, I'll check what I can do.

 Currently we have one set of parameters that you can see in

 local dataset = {
inter_char_stretch_factor = 0.50, -- of quad
inter_char_half_shrink_factor = 0.50, -- of quad
inter_char_hangul_penalty =   50,
 }

 It's no big deal to support more sets. Do document mix settings? Does this
 depend on the font?

I think that it depends on the fonts a little. When I use another font set,
the inter-letter space looks better. I'll discuss this matter with font experts
in KTUG conference on this saturday, Feb. 12.
Since they did a nice job for LaTeX, they know what should be considered.

 I uploaded a beta. Is the problem still there?

I just reinstalled the beta and test it. It works really fine!!!

Thank you for your efforts.

Dalyoung

[NTG-context] how to remove unwanted coordinate numbers(metafun)

Dear all.

I try to draw a circle with points on it as following:

path p; p:= fullcircle scaled 5cm;
draw p;
pickup pencircle scaled 2mm;
k:=1;
for i = 2.2,3,3.5,4.5,5,7,0,.7,1.3:
drawpoint point i of p;
label.lft(decimal k, point i of p);
k:= k+1;
endfor;

It draws a circle, points, label, but unwanted coordinate numbers like
(60.43535, 36.97691), too.
I didn't see such numbers in any example in metafun document.

If I use z[k] like

z[k] = point i of P;
draw z[k]

Then such a long numbers disappeared.

Is it the only way to surpress those numbers not using z?

Re: [NTG-context] ntg-context Digest, Vol 80, Issue 49

2011-02-12 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Hans,

Thank you for your concern about Korean.

Korean labels are working well, but the index tagging need a little more.

I checked index in my file and found that some words which should be in the
same group are scattered.
Also, the order of list doesn't follow the order of korean letter.

the order should be

ㄱ, ㄴ, ㄷ, ㄹ, ㅁ, ㅂ, ㅅ, ㅇ, ㅈ, ㅊ, ㅋ, ㅌ, ㅍ, ㅎ

In english index, Capital letter and small letter are mixed.

I'll send pdf file to you.

Thanks again.

best regards,

Dalyoung

 Hi,

 I uploaded a beta. New:

 - Improved \textxt behaviour (for Mojca's code).
 - Korean labels and index tagging (with help from Jeong Dalyoung).
 - Cleaned of referencing (formats).

Dear Wolfgang,

I tested your example on the multiple families of fonts.

It works nicely.
I have a few question.

There is no toc generated, just only head Contents appeared.

Since Intro and dedication are counted as chapters, the first chapter numbered
3. How to start chapter number from 1 for the first chapter?

Thank you.

[NTG-context] about the line break after \inframed

2011-02-22 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I tested the following code from Metafun.

\startuseMPgraphic{lions b}
picture pic;
path p ; p := fullsquare xyscaled (\overlaywidth,\overlayheight) randomized 5pt
;
pickup pencircle scaled 1pt ;
fill p withcolor .850yellow ;
draw p withcolor .5yellow ;
\stopuseMPgraphic

\defineoverlay[leopard][\uniqueMPgraphic{lions b}]

\def\nota#1 {\inframed[frame=off,background=leopard]{#1}}

\starttext
\nota{test 1:} This is a test for line separation.
%\midaligned{\nota{test 2}}
\stoptext

Then the sentence This is a test. is written in a new line as following.

test 1:
This is a test.

Q1. I'd like to have it in the same line as test 1: This is a test.
How to surpress the line break after test?

Q2. Also, if I try to add \midaligned{}, then an error occured.

! Argument of \nota has an extra }.
...
...
inserted text
\par
to be read again
   }
l.15 \midaligned{\nota{test 2}}

How to put it midaligned?

Thank you.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

[NTG-context] about \framed and \inframed

2011-03-04 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I defined Example as following:

\defineenumeration[Example]
  [location=serried,
   headstyle=bold,
   command={\framed[height=1.3em]},
   text={\ss \white 예제},
   prefix=yes,
   prefixsegments=chapter,
   way=bychapter,
   width=broad,
   number=yes,
   before={\blank[big]},
   after=\blank]

The problem is that the bottom of the framed text is aligned just below the
center of the following text lines. The vertical center is a little bit higher
than that of the following lines. If I use \inframed, then the top line of
the frame is a little bit higher than the center of the following sentence, so
there is almost no space between the frame and the texts in the next line.
In the manual \inframed makes vertical center alignment, but I can't make it.

I'd like to make vertical center alignment framed word and the normal text line
which follows.

How can I do it?

Thank you for reading.

Re: [NTG-context] font name has a space.

2011-03-07 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Taco,

Thank you for your comment.

I renamed the font to ~.ttf, luatools --generate first.

And try the same file.
At this time, there is no Fatal error messages, but still it doesn't locate
the font file.

So, I tested a few more things.

Test 1:
luatools locates all the fonts which has no space from the same font maker.
And, LuaTeX runs well to yield fine output.

Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌돌CB.otf
/Users/graph/Library/Fonts/산돌돌CB.otf

Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌명조B.otf
/Users/graph/Library/Fonts/산돌명조B.otf
###

Test 2:
luatools cannot locate the fonts which has space from the same font maker.

Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌명조M.otf

Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌명조 M.otf

Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌명조\space M.otf

But it locates the same file if I enclose font name.
Math-iMac:~ graph$ luatools 산돌명조 M.otf
/Users/graph/Library/Fonts/산돌명조 M.otf

So I tired \definefont[testfont][file:산돌명조 M.otf], but LuaTeX issue an error

system begin file testmp.tex at line 29
! LuaTeX error main ctx instance:1: ')' expected near '?'.

system tex error on line 30 in file testmp.tex: LuaTeX error ...

  \edef \somefontspec {at \n...
\dododefinefont ...inefont {#2}\rawfontidentifier
  \csname \rawfontidentifier...
l.30 \testfont

?

I tested english font which has a space in its name and got the same results.
For example, Geogia Bold.ttf font.
luatools cannot locate it and LuaTeX said unknown font. and used default font.

I renamed it GeogiaBold.ttf in /Library/fonts and tried again, but not succeed.

Hence, I think that the font whose name contains no space has no problem.
The fonts whose name contains a space make a trouble eventhough I removed the
space from it.

Am I doing right?

I am using Mac OSX. And,

This is LuaTeX, Version beta-0.65.0-2010121316
 \write18 enabled.

Re: [NTG-context] Am not getting Roman numeral page numbers in MKIV

2011-03-12 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Tom,

Since I am an enduser of ConTeXt, I couldn't expalin what happens here.
 I just run your code in the mail and got the following results.

 1. Front matter page numbers are not lower-case Roman numerals although they
 are listed as such in the TOC.

The Roman numerals in both front part and in TOC.

 2. The Introduction is not listed in the TOC.

Same as your output. No

 3. Page numbering isn't reset to 1 in the bodymatter section.

Same as you, but if I change \startstructureblockenvironment[bodymatter] to
\startstructureblockenvironment[bodypart], then Introduction starts from page 1.
So I guess that there are something between [bodymatter] and [bodypart].

best regards,

Dalyoung

Re: [NTG-context] Am not getting Roman numeral page numbers in MKIV

2011-03-13 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Tom,

 What version are you using?

I am using minimal not TeXlive2010. Of course, there are some bugs in beta. But
it would be fixed soon.
Moreover, you can have more than one Minimal folder. So it is easy to use
stable version if the beta has bugs.

 BTW, where did you read to use front part instead of frontmatter?

There was a thread whose title is Roman Page numbers.
And among the mails on 2009. 2. 4, there was a sample written by Wolfgang .

\definestructureconversionset[frontpart:pagenumber][][romannumerals]
\definestructureconversionset[bodypart:pagenumber] [][numbers]

\setuplist[chapter][pageconversionset=pagenumber]

\startstructureblockenvironment[frontpart]

\setupuserpagenumber[numberconversion=romannumerals]
\setuppagenumber[number=1]

\stopstructureblockenvironment

\startstructureblockenvironment[bodypart]

\setuppagenumber[number=1]

\stopstructureblockenvironment

\startfrontmatter

\completecontent[criterium=all]

\chapter{Intro}

\input tufte

\stopfrontmatter

\startbodymatter

\chapter{knuth}

\input knuth

\stopbodymatter

\stoptext

Mailing list is a good place for me to learn ConTeXt. There are so many things
which are not described in the manual.
I cannot give you a solution. But many experts who are reading this list will
give you a solution.

Cheers,

Dalyoung

Re: [NTG-context] Is Minimals ready for non-developers to use?

2011-03-14 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Tom,

good to hear that minimal is working fine.

 I had the same experience that you had with the Introduction not showing up
 in the TOC. Do you know how to report a bug?

I think that completecontent doesn't recognize the user defined intro. It is
all what I can tell you.
If you have no special reason to define \intro, you may use \chapter to make it
appear in TOC.

This mailing list is a place to report a bug.
If it is a real bug, then Hans will correct it, otherwise many experts who are
watching mails suggest you a good solution.

Thanks,

Best regards,

Dalyoung

[NTG-context] circled number for item head

2011-03-20 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I'd like to use circled number for item head.
I found one method which use a counter as follows:

 \def\circlednum#1{\uchar{36}{95+#1}}
\defineconversion[myitem][\circlednum]

\starttext
\startitemize[myitem, pack]
\item 111
\item 222
\item 333
\item 444
\item 555
\stopitemize
\stoptext

But it has a limitation of numbers. I think that there is a better way for this
like using overlay something, I guess.

Is there any general method which is good for any letter?

Thanks for reading.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

Re: [NTG-context] circled number for item head (Wolfgang Schuster)

2011-03-21 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Wolfgang,

Thank you for reminding me the thread.
I also found it yesterday evening and it made me realize how dumb I am.

I am so sorry to give you a needless work.

I'd like to ask you one more.
I was looking for a way to use some characters as an item head like
\startitemize[a] because an official document usually use numbers and some
characters as item heads.
For consecutive characters in unicode, it is possible to do that using unicode.

 \def\circledja#1{\uchar{50}{95+#1}}
 \def\circledga#1{\uchar{50}{109+#1}}
 \def\circleden#1{\uchar{36}{207+#1}}

and \defineconversion[][].

But for characters which are not listed consecutively, I don't know how to make
it appear automatically.
I may use \sym{}
AC00, B098, B2E4, B77C, ...
These are the same characters in the area 320E ~ 321B without parenthesis.
Is it possible to make those characters appear automatically as item heads?

I hope that it is not a silly question.

Thank you again.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

[NTG-context] writing a label with a subscript in MetaFun.

2011-04-19 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I'd like to write a label with a subscript in MetaFun where the subscript is a
variable.

I tried in several way but not succeed. The best which I made is

for i= 0 upto 8:
label( z  decimal i, z[i]);
endfor;

So the output is z1, z2, z3, ...
And, the following commands are not working.

label(btex z_i etex, z[i]); no error but the value of i is not listed.
label(btex z_\MPvar{i} etex, z[i]);  error

Is there a good way to do that?

Thank you for reading.

[NTG-context] displaying lines of formulas one by one

2011-05-12 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

I'd like to show the following formula line by line in a presentation,
For example,
\startformula\startalign
\NC T(4) \NC = T(3) + 4 \NR
\NC \NC= T(2) + 3 + 4 \NR
\NC \NC= T(1) + 2 + 3 + 4 \NR
\NC \NC= 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10 \NR
\stopalign\stopformula

I tried to use \StartSteps and \StopSteps but not succeed.

\starttext
\usemodule[pre-60]

\StartSteps
\startformula\startalign
\NC T(4) \NC = T(3) + 4 \NR\FlushStep %(nor \FlushStep\NR)
\NC \NC= T(2) + 3 + 4 \NR\FlushStep
\NC \NC= T(1) + 2 + 3 + 4 \NR\FlushStep
\NC \NC= 1 + 2 + 3 + 4 = 10 \NR\FlushStep
\stopalign\stopformula
\StopSteps

\stoptext

Is there a way to do so?

Thank you.

Re: [NTG-context] displaying lines of formulas one by one

2011-05-13 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Wolfgang and Otared,

Thank you for the reply.

I have used \setupinteraction[state=start] and open with Adobe Reader already.

\StartSteps worked well in \startitemize and \startcombination. For example,

\StartSteps
\startitemize
\item $T(n) =$ \FlushStep
\blank[5*big]
\item $T(n) =$ \FlushStep
\stopitemize
\StopSteps
...

\StartSteps
\placefigure[none][]{}
{\startcombination[3*1]
{\externalfigure[TriNo60][width=.3\makeupwidth]}{\FlushStep}
{\externalfigure[TriNo90][width=.3\makeupwidth]}{\FlushStep}
{\externalfigure[TriNoDbl][width=.3\makeupwidth]}{\FlushStep}
\stopcombination}
\startformula
T(n) = n(n+1) \over 2
\stopformula
\FlushStep
\StopSteps

But I couldn't make it work with lines of formulas. I think that it is not
working with \NC, \NR structure.

I'll try t-rsteps and thank you for the file. It is another good way to make
slides.

Thank you.

Best regards,

Dalyoung

Dear Wolfgang and Hans,

Thank you for checking. I'll wait for next beta.

It is one of nice features in presentation and was working well sometime ago.

 Your mail reminds me to finish my animation module which makes it simpler
 to generate such animations, e.g. the above can be written as

 \startanimation
  {1}
  {2}
 \stopanimation

 and all the necessary symbols etc. are generated by the environment.

It is great. Should I include some module? Where can I find it?

2011-05-16 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear Wolfgang,

Thank you for the files.

 Yes, the code is a separate module and you can download it here:
 https://bitbucket.org/wolfs/animation/src

I downloaded in .zip file, and found many files.
I copied t-animation.mkvi ../texmf-local/tex/context and run luatools
--generate.

After that try your sample file animation-1.tex and got a undefined control
sequence - \startanimation.

The fact is that luatools didn't locate it.
Should I do some more things to make it work?
Is the module name t-animation.mkvi not ~.mkiv?

Thank you again.

Dear Wolfgang,

Your animation module works really fine.
It reduces a lot of work to set the fieldstack.

I'd like to ask you a few more small things.

1) Is it possible to set the duration time in the case of autoplay?
2) The location of buttons is leftaligned when [menu=yes]. Is it what you want
or I did something wrong?
3) What is the meaning of \start and \stop in animation-1.tex?
4) In your animation-2.tex, the size of buttons can be controlled by setting
foregroundstyle. Then, how to apply it to \startanimation?

Thank you.

[NTG-context] error: unable to define unbatangRegular as \*Myface12ptrmtfa*

2010-05-27 Thread Jeong Dalyoung
Dear all,

Today, I updated ConTeXt Minimal using first-setup.sh in my Mac.

I compiled a file which was compiled well before update.
But I got a strange result in the output.

All english sentences are shown well except korean sentences. In the log file,

...
systems : end file myBstyle at line 4
(/Users/graph/ConTeXtMini/tex/texmf-local/tex/context/type-kor.tex)
!define font: font with name unbatangRegular is not found
!define font: unknown font unbatangRegular, loading aborted
!define font: unable to define unbatangRegular as \*Myface12ptrmtf*
systems : begin file geo-euclid at line 11
(/Users/graph/Documents/Mathematics/geometry/geo-euclid.tex
structure   : chapter @ level 2 : 0.1 - Euclidean Geoemtry
!define font: font with name unbatangRegular is not found
!define font: unknown font unbatangRegular, loading aborted
!define font: unable to define unbatangRegular as \*Myface12ptrmtfc*
!define font: font with name unbatangRegular is not found
...

There is no change in the typescript file and the location of the fonts.

Here is a part of typescript file type-kor defining unbatangRegular;

% unfonts batang
\starttypescript[serif][unbatang][uc]
% Regular variant:
\definefontsynonym[unbatangRegular][file:UnBatang.ttf][encoding=uc]
\definefontsynonym[unbatangBold][file:UnBatangBold.ttf][encoding=uc]
\definefontsynonym[unbatangItalic][file:UnGraphic.ttf][encoding=uc]
\definefontsynonym[unbatangBoldItalic][file:UnGraphicBold.ttf] [encoding=uc]
\stoptypescript
% mid-level names:
\starttypescript[serif][unbatang][name]
\definefontsynonym[Serif][unbatangRegular]
\definefontsynonym[SerifBold][unbatangBold]
\definefontsynonym[SerifItalic][unbatangItalic]
\definefontsynonym[SerifBoldItalic][unbatangBoldItalic]
% The fallbacks
\definefontsynonym[SerifSlanted][Serif]
\definefontsynonym[SerifBoldSlanted][SerifBold]
\definefontsynonym[SerifCaps][Serif]
\stoptypescript
...

More interesting thing is that korean defined as bold face is shown. So I
change the whole text as bold using {\bf whole text (english + korean)}, then
every sentences is clearly shown in bold face. I checked luatools
UnBatang.ttf which is defined as unbatangregular, it locates where it is.

ConTeXtMini graph$ luatools UnBatang.ttf
/Users/graph/Library/Fonts/UnBatang.ttf

Both current version and ConTeXt ver: 2010.05.24 13:05 MKIV fmt: 2010.5.27
int: english/english version work same.

Why isn't it able to define unbatangRegular while it can use the
unbatangBold?

I am using Mac, ConTeXtMinimal.
Thank you.

Best regards,

Dalyoung
