I select and play a single track and halfway through the play it selects the next 5 tracks (or 10 in my case as I have changed the number selected). As it moves through the list and is playing the second to last track it selects the next 5 (10). It seems the only time it fails to select tracks is if I manually move forward to the last track but that is seldom the case. In relation to LastMix, is there a method / way to teach the mixer if wrong mixes are selected. Having just tested 5 seeder tracks - local files only. 4 of the 5 were 100% correct with their selection and the 5th made horrible incorrect selections? In addition is there any ways users can enhance / customise LastMix or is the implementation closed? Not really, no. And I wouldn't rely on a single track for mixes. Even when things go well you could get repetitions pretty quickly, as Last.fm would only give me 100 tracks per seed (IIRC). ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Don't Stop The Music / LastMix
No, that's for when there are more than 2 tracks in the queue. Once playback of the third to last track has started, DSTM would kick in. But that's not true in case of a single track. Based on your feedback I have successfully implemented a multi call workaround that I probably wasn't clear enough: you shouldn't need any workaround. This should just work. What I didn't explicitly mention in my response was that in case of a single track DSTM would wait for half of the track to be played back before adding new tracks. This is to allow a user to add track by track, without DSTM kicking in. (b) Adds a Track that is 2 secs in length with no sound Can you test my above? No need to add these two tracks. Just one single track, then give it some time. How can I make these call via POST with the JSONRPC without calling the following and using item_id: {"id":1,"method":"slim.request","params":["",["favorites","items","0","100","want_url:1"]]} You could simply play the station's URL instead of relying it to be stored as a favorite? ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

DTSM has been set to LastMix ("My Music" only) that works with Squeezer, Material and iPeng. However when I make a call for one favorite using JSONRPC, it plays the track (single not album) but does not activate DSTM to build the queue? What I am looking to do is to programmatically select a different favorite track that sets off a random queue of DSTM / LastMix The way how you tell LMS to play a new track shouldn't have any impact on DSTM. In particular using JSONRPC, as that's likely what Squeezer and Material (and the default skin in some cases) are doing as well. Please note that submitting a single track would not immediately trigger DSTM. descriptions and look for any conflicts. I checked logs and nothing jumped out. There was a comment: Code: [22-02-11 18:41:20.7302] Slim::Plugin::DontStopTheMusic::Plugin::onPlaylistChange (183) Found Sugarcube active - I'm not going to interfere with it. ... So again, I'm not sure if this is a DSTM request or should be a SugarCube request, but these plugins do not play nicely with each other and don't warn the user, either in the UI settings pages or the logs, when the are conflicting. Well... the above is exactly the hint you are asking for, isn't it? I'd recommend that at the top of the screen of the DSTM plugin, if SugarCube is detected (which it can see because it adds SugarCube as an option in DSTM which is very surprising), a warning that SugarCube is installed and must be disabled at the Player level for DSTM to work. That's up to SugarCube to do: the plugin can tell DSTM that it should not kick in while the plugin (SugarCube) was active. DSTM then asks the plugin whether it was active or not. If it says it was active, DSTM would not kick in, but log the above. So if SugarCube wasn't really active (and you were expecting DSTM to kick in), but DSTM believed it was, then it's due to SugarCube telling so. And if the user does not properly disable, then in the logs, preferably at the Error or Warn level, it says the specific player couldn't run DSTM because SugarCube is enabled. It is a warning. BTW: are you sure you're running the latest of "everything" (LMS & SugarCube)? There was a change to this check about 6 months ago. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Don't Stop the Music not working
Sorry to re-visit this thread, but I think it's the right place to post this. I recently did a full re-install of the OS on my server and re-deployed LMS. Everything was great, except once again, my DSTM wasn't working. Remembering that this happened before, and recalling it had something to do with a plugin conflict, I was super careful to read all the descriptions and look for any conflicts. I checked logs and nothing jumped out. There was a comment: Code: [22-02-11 18:41:20.7302] Slim::Plugin::DontStopTheMusic::Plugin::onPlaylistChange (183) Found Sugarcube active - I'm not going to interfere with it. But that didn't raise any alarms for me. I looked at the SugarCube settings pages, the MusicIP pages and the DSTM settings pages and nothing indicated conflicts or things to watch out for between plugins and options. Increasing log levels and no alerts to errors or conflicts beyond the note that DSTM wasn't going to interfere with SugarCube. I did not realize "not going to interfere" meant "not going to run", and perhaps I should have recognized that. If the log went once step further to say "Disable SugarCube on player to use DSTM" It would have pointed me to the right place. Eventually I came back to this forum, searched my old posts and refreshed myself with the conflicts with SugarCube. I found that if I properly disable at the player level, or preferably uninstall SugarCube then DSTM worked properly. So again, I'm not sure if this is a DSTM request or should be a SugarCube request, but these plugins do not play nicely with each other and don't warn the user, either in the UI settings pages or the logs, when the are conflicting. I'd recommend that at the top of the screen of the DSTM plugin, if SugarCube is detected (which it can see because it adds SugarCube as an option in DSTM which is very surprising), a warning that SugarCube is installed and must be disabled at the Player level for DSTM to work. And if the user does not properly disable, then in the logs, preferably at the Error or Warn level, it says the specific player couldn't run DSTM because SugarCube is enabled. Hoping this is helpful. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Don't Stop The Music / LastMix
If I play just one track then DSTM adds tracks with no interruption of playback. Is that different to me skipping to final track of a playlist? You might be surprised, but yes, that's different. Because people would sometimes add a track, then another one etc., DSTM gives them half a minute or something before it would kick in when there's only a single track in the playlist. -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

What mixer are you using? MusicIP. I'm not too familiar with MIP (any more). BUT I know that we never re-wrote it to use non-blocking requests to MIP. Which means that if LMS is just starting to buffer audio data to the player and gets blocked, then yes, playback could get interrupted. DSTM would not start immediately if it wasn't on the last track, but would let the player buffer first, for this very reason. But then this isn't for this thread ;-) -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

[SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Don't Stop the Music not working
I'm trying to get the "don't stop the music" plugin to work for the first time. I've enabled the plugin and set the settings for a few options, MusicIP Mix (what I want), song mix, a few others, but nothing seems to happen when the playlist ends. I've tried enabling logging for any relevant plugin/parameter I could find and I don't see any related issues. It just doesn't do anything at the end of the playlists. What could I provide that would help with diagnostics? Does this plugin still work? Since update to V1.1.7 I noticed that it was back to 5 max. tracks selected from the seed, I had previously set it to 25. Update wrote over that and took it back to 5. No problem, have edited MAX TRACKS = 25. Just to adise anyone else who had set max tracks previously to a different number. [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Don't Stop The Music MusicIP mix
When I select MusicIP mix in DSTM I always get a song mix instead. The server log shows that the following command is used to get the mix Code: http://localhost:10002/api/mix?album=%2Fmedia%2Fusb0%2FMyMusic%2FRamones%2F1999%20-%20Anthology%20(2CD)%2FCD1%2F01-Blitzkrieg%20Bop.mp3&mixgenre=0&sizetype=tracks&rejectsize=12&variety=3&style=100&size=30 If I enter this in Firefox I get "MusicIP API error - invalid request or internal error" But if I change "localhost" to the IP address of my server then a mix is generated and takes around 14 seconds. If I add the filter I would like to use with MusicIP the mix takes just over 15 seconds to generate. I suppose "localhost" doesn't work as I am using a windows laptop to connect to a Raspberry Pi. Is the issue the time taken to generate the mix? If so could the timeout be increased? slartibartfast's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=35609 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=108829 ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter

Thanks for the great hint. I have also set the number of tracks to 25. So it is much better for me. Hi Michael, thanks for your reply and advice. I changed MAX_TRACKS to 25 and restarted LMS (of course!) and it works perfectly. Thanks again! Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Don't Stop The Music / LastMix
It always adds 5 songs on to to list at a time. The first 5 added are very close to the seed track, but as each 5 is added it wanders away quickly. I understand why, so my question is: Can the setting for number of songs added be changed? Have been searching for it but no luck. No, it currently can't. There's a constant MAX_TRACKS in DontStopTheMusic.pm inside the plugin's folder. You could change this. (and yes, there's a comment about eventually making this user adjustable, too...) -- Michael ___ Squeezecenter mailing list Squeezecenter@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/squeezecenter
Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Don't Stop The Music / LastMix
I am giving LastMix a try in conjunction with DSTM. I have it set to local songs only. Scrobbling local and Spotify tracks. Quite impressed! It always adds 5 songs on to to list at a time. We have got LastMix running but LMS is still not pulling the Spotify menu from MySB. Credentials checked and double checked. Spotify uninstalled on MySB, left for 6 hours then reinstalled. Still no joy. Will the reason show in the logs? If so which log? I understand you have problems setting up Spotify? This has nothing to do with LastMix or DSTM. Still no joy. Will the reason show in the logs? If so which log? Unfortunately I dont have access to the LMS instance except by TeamViewer and by appointment when timezones allow so if you could give me some pointers before I start switching logging on everywhere next time I connect it would be greatly appreciated. This is the first time I have seen this problem having installed LMS and set up Spotify for other people many times before. Re: [SlimDevices: SqueezeCenter] Don't Stop The Music / LastMix
I thought LastMix was now built in to DSTM which in turn is built in to LMS? No, while I'm the author both plugins, I made LastMix my personal project, while DSTM, providing the infrastructure for this kind of plugins, is part of LMS. It's just because LMS still is a Logitech product, and Logitech can't use 3rd party services without some legal paperwork. It was easier this way. Therefore you'll have to enable/install both plugins independently. Possibly related but although Spotify has been activated at mySB.com it's not appearing in My Apps in LMS.
