Hi, My original question on this thread was how to close a programme and give focus to the desktop while using Jaws and have speech. Upon exiting a programme like Thunderbird with alt F4, where Window-Eyes gave focus to the Desktop with speech, Jaws does not. Well, on my system anyway. The only way I can give focus to the Desktop and have speech is to to press Windows d after exiting the programme. Pressing Windows m or Windows d does give focus to the Desktop with speech but the programme has only been minimized and not closed. Net Bat, I am using W10 Home with all updates. Alt tab does nothing as regards bringing back the speech when returning to the Desktop. Maybe I have been spoiled by years of WE because it always automatically gave focus to the Desktop after leaving a programme. Neville. Jaws and desktop
Hi, Just authorized the latest copy of Jaws and very much a learner. When exiting a programme, say Thundrbird, or exiting a drive for the Desktop, ,after pressing alt F4 Jaws goes quiet. The pressing of Windows d once or twice is required to place focus back on the Desktop. Is this annoying behaviour normal for Jaws or do I need to change some setting somewhere?
